Earthwave is bringing its legendary World Record Attempt to Newquay for the first time.

On 31 October at Great Western Beach, surfers, families, local businesses and the wider community will come together for an afternoon of surfing, music, food, beach culture and good vibes, all building towards one huge moment: Can we get more than 110 surfers riding the same wave at the same time?

Whether you’re riding the wave or cheering from the beach, come down, get involved and be part of history.

Schedule of Events

Great Western Beach - Newquay, UK

10:00 — Beach Opens
Registration opens, with food & drink, live music and beach activities across Great Western Beach.
11:00 — Sand Art Demonstration & Competition
Beach Art Crew Cornwall shows the kids how incredible sand art is created before they have a go themselves.
12:00 — START & CO Dig for Gold
Kids dig for hidden golden boxes and the chance to win some awesome prizes from our partners.
13:00 — Northshore Softboard Surf-Off
An under-16s softboard surf competition presented by Northshore Surf Shop and judged by Newquay Boardriders.
14:15 — Wave Riders Assemble
All registered Wave Riders assemble for the official line-up.
14:30 — Official Welcome & Safety Briefing
Newquay Mayor Cllr Drew Creek welcomes Earthwave, followed by final instructions and the Wave Rider safety briefing.
14:50 — Wave Riders Enter the Water
Paddle out, get into position and get ready to make history.
15:00–16:00 — WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
The Earthwave attempt for the Most Surfers Riding a Wave.
16:00 — Beach Sessions Continue
Food & drink, music and beach activities continue as we wrap up at Great Western Beach.
17:00 onwards — THE EARTHWAVE FINALE
The official result, awards, raffles, speeches, food & drink, DJ and post-event celebration. (Venue TBC)
