Your official registration to take part in the Earthwave World Record Attempt on the 19th September 2026 in Newquay.
Each Ticket Includes:
- Official entry into the World Record Attempt

Frequently asked questions
What does my Earthwave participation ticket include?
Your ticket gives you official entry into the Earthwave World Record Attempt, your unique participant number and a digital participation certificate after the event. You'll be part of our attempt to get more than 110 surfers riding the same wave at Great Western Beach.
Do I need to be an experienced surfer?
You don't need to be an expert, but you must be a confident swimmer and capable of paddling, controlling your board, catching a wave and returning safely to shore. This is a mass-participation surf event rather than a surf lesson, and all participants must attend the compulsory safety briefing.
What board can I use?
For everyone's safety, the World Record Attempt will be learn-to-surf/softboards/foam boards only, with a working leash. Don't own one? We're working with local partners to make board hire available, please see the bundles packages available.
What happens if the conditions aren't suitable on Saturday?
The main event takes place on Saturday 19 September 2026, with Sunday 20 September reserved as our contingency day. If the surf, weather or water-safety conditions aren't suitable on Saturday, the World Record Attempt may move to Sunday. Ticket holders will be informed via email/SMS as well as notifications made live on the website and socials.
What do I need to do on the day?
Every surfer must check in at registration, collect their participant number and attend the compulsory safety briefing before entering the water. You'll be organised into groups and enter the water under the direction of our marshals and water-safety team. You must also check out after leaving the water so we know everybody is safely accounted for.
Can children take part?
Yes, subject to the event's final age and water-safety requirements. Anyone under 18 will require consent from a parent or legal guardian and must meet the required swimming and surfing competency standards.
Can friends and family come and watch?
Absolutely. Earthwave is a community beach event and spectators are encouraged to come down and be part of the day. You only need a participation ticket if you're taking part in the World Record Attempt
